Load the Dice by Moriah Gemel: Spotlight with Excerpt

Load the Dice (Episode One)

by Moriah Gemel

BLURB:

Eric left the BDSM scene years ago because he couldn’t find the right partner, opting instead to meet men in quiet coffee shops and piano bars. But when his friend invites him to a posh hook-up party, he meets first time sub Jamie, who he convinces to detail his sexual fantasies during a passionate night together.

The pair soon embark on a relationship that introduces Jamie to the BDSM scene, and plays out his fantasies one by one. But as they approach the final fantasy, will Eric be able to walk away?

EXCERPT

Eric’s not sure how Andy convinced him to go to this thing. Gay hookup parties aren’t exactly his normal scene—not for a long time, anyway. He prefers quiet piano bars and coffee shops. He prefers peace. The party scene was never peaceful for him. But they’d had a few shots of tequila at his place to pregame, and instead of going to a low-key gay bar, they’re going to this party that Andy’s latest girlfriend is attending. So Eric just walks along behind Andy, determinedly not imagining her falling off those sky-high heels, messing up her perfect pixie cut and perfect makeup on her perfect snub-nosed face and perfectly tailored pantsuit with no shirt underneath, even as they make their way up from the subway, and then a block to a trendy hotel in Manhattan.

“This is a classy gig, okay?” Andy says as they approach a set of elevators. “It’s being thrown by some rich boy who’s apparently tossing these shindigs all over the place, and only the hottest get in. So try not to be a twerp, okay?”

“Thanks, Andy,” Eric grits out, quickly sobering as the elevator rises and his stomach drops.

The doors open to a foyer that’s filled with stylishly dressed, beautiful people. Eric mentally thanks Andy for coaxing him into wearing one of his best outfits; if he’d shown up in his jeans and T-shirt he would’ve been kicked out. But now he’s here in black cigarette slacks, a tight, dark green waistcoat, and a starched white button-up with a textured black tie and a fancy silver-and-emerald tie clip that his mom and dad got him for his last birthday. His hair is styled, he’s put together, and he feels ready to face anything. Mostly.

  3. Interesting introduction to the story and the characters and how Andy really did not tell Eric what it was about, even though I am playing catch up as I started the tour a bit late and have read the subsequent posts, thank you :)
