Hi, my name is Izzy Rizzo and I’m 25 years old. I recently found the love of my life, Valentino and I’m in the process of moving to Italy! The past year has been difficult for me and I’ve gone through a lot of self-discovery. Some portions of my life were challenging to face because I had to admit that I was partially to blame for my situation. I had allowed my ex-husband to control my life and somehow had lost who I was. Thankfully, the asshole cheated on me and set a fire under my ass to make some all too needed changes within me.
I discovered that I was a passionate individual who could and did enjoy intimacy and sex. I was able to re-discover my passion for cooking and winemaking, which are driving me into a new and fascinating career. By opening myself to change, I have found a whole new world to enjoy and am thankful for each and every day.
Who is your favorite author?
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
That’s easy, a chef. I always loved cooking because it reminded me of happy times. My grandmother loved to cook and when I went to visit her we would spend full days making tasty treats. The smells, textures and tastes created some of my fondest childhood memories.
What are your favorite TV shows?
The cooking channel is my favorite; I’m addicted to most of the shows that portray cooking as a challenge (Top Chef, Master Chef, Cut Throat Kitchen, ect.). I do admit that I occasionally enjoy a sappy romance.
What songs are most played on your Ipod?
Thanks to my mother, I’m an eclectic listener who enjoys music from all eras and genres. That being said, I usually listen to two types of music depending on my mood. When I’m feeling romantic and loving I listen to classic love songs, like: “That’s what Love is For” by Amy Grant and “Love me tender” by Elvis.
For those good feeling times, when I want to party and have fun I blast 80’s rock bands. My Ipod is full of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Guns N Roses and Metallica; I guess I have a little wild side in me after all.
What is your favorite meal?
I know it sounds simple, but it would have to be the dish that my grandmother made me every year on my birthday; BBQ ribs, fried potatoes, homemade biscuits and a Mississippi Mud Cake for dessert. My mouth is watering!!
Who should play you in a film?
Mila Kunis, because she seems comfortable in her own skin, can play a variety of roles and of course I want to be as gorgeous as she is. I have gone through many changes in my life and at times I feel like a different person. I would want the person who played me to be able to show the varies phases that I went through and I believe she could pull it off.
What makes you happy?
Going to bed with Valentino and waking up each morning with him beside me.
What is the next big thing?
Opening a tasting bistro next to the winery, where I can create a unique tasting menu to pair with our wines.
If I came to visit early in the morning would you impress me as being more like a chirpy bird or a grumpy bear?
Definitely, a grumpy bear, don’t even bother trying to converse with me until I’ve had my first cup of coffee. I think I grunt until I’m fully awake!
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I can remember every song I’ve ever heard.

About the Author:
Shannon Casey was born in Turlock, California, the second oldest of eight children. Being the only girl she had to use her imagination to entertain herself. She was also a tom boy who never let the fact that she was a girl slow her down. She learned to ride horses better than the boys and practiced her hand at roping and barrel racing.
She married her high school sweet heart during her senior year and became a mother at seventeen, but she didn’t let that slow her down. Her daughter became her motivation to obtain her college degree and create a better life for them. Shannon graduated from CSU Stanislaus in 1997 and soon after had her second daughter. She went on to obtain two master degrees in psychology, two credentials and a private license.
During her career as a psychologist she never gave up her dream of becoming an author, but as the years passed she never found the time to actually write. Like most people, the daily grind and spending time with her children took precedence over her desire to create.
Then she met her second husband, Corey Casey, through her older brother Anthony. They married in March 2008. When her son was born in July 2009 it was the perfect time for her to cut her hours to part time. Corey inspired her to pick up her pen and write, telling her that she would never know unless she tried. Since that time, she has written her first novel, traveled and found her creative outlet.
